This page is a tribute of sorts, to a legendary Dj and her unrivaled funk night. Every Wednesday for over a decade, people would pack themselves into a dingy cramped club to hear the rarest grooves and gritty funk tracks from decades past. Breakers would clear circles and sweat out the stresses of the day, beat junkies basking in soulful rhythms, their ears tweaking, recognizing breaks sampled in classic hip hop jams.
Mo'Gravy dishes up a hot collection of funk, soul, breaks, hip hop, and rare grooves from back in the day. Many people do not realize how much of the music they love has been sampled from songs written decades ago. I get my kicks sharing music with everyone that I meet. This gravy is bass heavy, and best served loud.

Les Baxter - “Hogin’ Machine” (1968)
This is from the sound track to the movie Hell’s Bells from 1969. The beginning sounds as though it is from a old western movie with that soulful harmonica. Then sweeping in are these funky drum beats and guitar riffs, making you feel like your lonely campfire just turned into a bumpin party. I think this film and its soundtrack are definately worth checking into.
